December 2015 Traffic Report

The mission statement for Les Feldick Bible Study is to share God’s Word and allow people to become more like Christ through the study of His Word each and every day!

We posted 31 videos in the month of December which increases the total to 365. We also posted 2 eBooks which brings the total to 31. Get those eBooks here.

Traffic
Traffic for December increased over 20% from November. We averaged over 735 page views per day in December which was up from 629 in November! We hit over 5100 unique visitors for the month which is 46.9% more than last month! As you can see our traffic did exactly what we wanted it to do! This just proves that growth is possible when the Lord’s people step up and share the teaching of God’s Word with others!

Email List
Almost 45% of our traffic came from our email list in December. This number was a decrease of 9%. This is actually a good thing! We are getting more of our traffic from other ways! Our email list grew over 12.5% in December from 1,664 to 1,876. This increase is larger than last month and we gained almost 7 subscribers each day. If you are not on our email list please sign up here so you can get each video delivered daily.
Social
Our social traffic jumped 10% with 22% of our traffic coming from social. As I mentioned before we were banned from sharing on Facebook Groups in November which caused us to have lower social traffic in Nov. In December we were able to share to Facebook Groups which helped us a lot! The software we started using in August is working is still working well.

YouTube is the most important stat that we can track! The reason is because it does not matter how many people visit the website if they never watch the videos. Our goal for this site is to get the teaching of God’s Word in front of more people

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
People finding this site by searching in Google or Bing or Yahoo is very important! We really want the % of our visitors coming to our site from one of these search engines to increase each month and it has been! Our first month 5% of our traffic came from search. It is important that this number increases each month.

Expenses
Our expenses increases some because we are growing which is awesome! The software we are using for Social Sharing has really helped with our traffic from social but we had to increase our package! Our cost for our email list also increased because we now have more than 1,500 people on our email list which is great! We switched out hosting service which I think most of you will notice the site has became much faster. We think this will bring a better experience to our users and keep them watching longer! This almost doubled our expense for hosting but we think it is worth it!

Social Sharing (SlackSocial) – $14.00/Month (Increased Social Shares per/day from 125 – 250)
Email List (MailChimp) – $24.75/Month (Cost increased when we hit 1,500 email subscribers)
YouTube Managment (TubeBuddy) – $11.40/Month
Total – $67.65/Month
Revenue
We just started an affiliate shopping page . If you shop on Amazon or Christian Book Distributors you can go to our shopping page and click on the banner of the site you want to shop on and any item you buy on that website we will earn a small commission of the total sale. We will be listing all the revenue that we make with this affiliate shopping page. Hopefully this can cover the costs that are mentioned above and even allow us to do some more things to help share the teaching of God’s Word!

What we did in December
The big thing we did in December was changed our hosting service. We went with a new company who only deals with WordPress sites. The customer service is great and the speed of our site improved dramatically! Like I said earlier this should help improve the experience for our users and thus cause them to spend more time on our site learning from the Word of God!
What we have planned for 2016
We are looking at switching to a different theme which will increase speed and functionality of our site. This will again improve the user experience and cause the teaching of the Word of God to be seen by more people!
